most likely impossible until the agreement with BB is over or if BB comes out with an updated storm for sprint. The latter will probably be true. I'm not complaining too much about that, I would love to have the storm on sprint to replace my curve, but i'm content with my curve right now and when the storm comes out there wont be many apps and the ones that do come out will have quirks.
By the time we get the storm on sprint, in about a 7mo-1year, it will be a better phone than the verizon storm coming out now and the apps for it will work better and we'll have a wide variety.
Basically everyone buying the storm now is a beta tester. We get the nice polished final product.

I think that blackberry is taking a bad step by promoting their phone on a specfic carrier, there are many Blackberry fans and I am honestly quite pissed about this. I alway have to have the newest phones. I had used many other PDA style smart phones and finally discovered Blackberry and now I will never switch back. How ever I am on sprint and don't plan on leaving any time soon.

We need a new government “bailout” for the consumer’s right to cell phone service. These carrier exclusive cell phone deals are total BS. Whatever happened to the free market and competition? We are already 5 years behind most countries in cell phone technologies and services. I just hope sprint allows WiFi on all the new 9000 series phones.

Theoretically, you would need to buy one from Verizon outright or with a plan then cancel; wipe the unit; change the carrier ID and some other stuff(need special software); convince the Sprint rep to add the ESN to their database and then activate it. Technically, it should not be a problem. Logistically, it will be a big effort. I do plan to try.

Sprint will never add a verizon ESN to their database, so do not waste your time and effort. I tried for 3 months to have a RAZR V3 added that was from VZ. It would involve having Blackberry agree to unassign the ESN. Good luck with that!

t-mobile actually came out with the curve 1st, i waited and i am glad i did. i usually get the latest just for change but i honestly have neveer been more satisfied with a phone. i heard about the storm was very disappointed sprint wouldn't be getting it right away because frankly, i can't wait. but annonomous was right, bb will have time to work out all the kinks which will make it worth the wait.

I am so pro Storm (and sooo hating that nightmare that is my Treo Palm) that I may very well have to drop Sprint and go find green pastures with the Blackberry Storm. To bad Sprint doesn't carry it, I've been loyal to them for a long time. But the Treo is a piece of !#$^^

i want the storm as well to replace my curve, but i am willing to wait for it to come out to sprint, figuring outta the networks ive been on id say sprints the best, didnt really like verizion mr "can you hear me now" and "no dropped calls" loses more calls than any carrier ive known, and my few friends that have veri still hate them. shame on blackberry for going one sided on it though.

I've heard waaaay bad things about the functionality of the first set of new Storms. Both crackberry.com and yahoo gadgets said the new Storm has major app problems, there is major lag time and frozen frames. So far, the only good thing about it is the "click through" application on the touchscreen, and the huge screen itself. I hate to have to wait, b/c I too like the newest gadgets, especially when it comes to cellys. But, I agree with most, the wait will be worth it and the newer versions should be minus the bugs.

The Storm is the first smart phone to be close to an iPhone but still offer SmartPhone features like reliable email, etc... I am with Sprint and really love Sprint, love plan, coverage, options, and the price. The last few days been considering switching to Verizon just for the Storm but after reading review after review about Verizon and looking at how much more expensive they are, it doesn't seem worth it. Why would Blackberry do this, why would iPhone/Apple do it. Do you know how many people would have an iPhone if it was available to every carrier?? They really are giving the edge to the provider and loosing their edge to get their product in as many hands as possible. I'm not sure what the companies like Blackberry and Apple are thinking. Clearly AT & T and Verizon are the ones that win on these exclusive deals. Meanwhile you're sitting on the best network out there, SPRINT, and can't get your hands on a decent touch screen. The Instinct is great for average users but does not weigh in with the big boys like iPhone and certainly not Blackberry. I'm a Treo user and I guess I will be until The Storm or something like it pops up in the Sprint line of cell phones. Who knows, maybe I'll switch to Verizon. Been with Sprint now for 6 years. DO NOT WANT TO MOVE! Blackberry Storm come to Sprint

While in the Sprint store they showed me the Touch Phone by HTC I believe. They said they have very few returned and it does have a slide out keyboard. I played with it in the store but I think I am still going to wait for BB Storm. I love my Pearl and can't imagine not having a BB. I agree with the majority on here. I know Apple and RIM are getting a lot of money from AT&T and Verizon, but think how much money they'd get if other carries were allowed to sell their phones. I think they would make more money from the consumers! What a shame!!!

Blackberry made a dumb decision selling the blackberry storm exclusively to verizon wireless. They would obviously make more money if they sold it on multiple carriers. Sprint should step their game up because they are always last to get a new blackberry. I am a sprint curve owner and I'm tired of the sluggish os and ugly interface. if sprint got the blackberry storm I would be one of the first to get it.

I have a BB storm and love it. I have to have the latest and greatest also, but with all new things, it does have minor, and I do mean minor flaws....I couldn't imagine anything that is touch screen not having a minor lag. If you can deal with that, then its really worth it. It can do so much, and as with all new things like computers and such, if you try to do too many things at once, it will freeze. Stop being greedy and enjoy one app at a time people....I love my storm!!!! -SailorChick

To bad about iphone and ATT,i cant stand ATT and will pass on iphone because of it,As for BB Storm, yea to bad its only offered on limited carriers, because they would have hard time keeping up with demands if we could all get it on any carrier. Not to mention how this would force the industy standards up a notch. One thing i can say for sure Personally,I am getting weary of always being 3 steps behind the cutting edge on my sprint Carriers phone tech.

I have both Networks and they are both good and almost the same, I drive cross country and these two carriers share the same towers but Verizon owns more of them than Sprint.
You will get a better rate with Sprint but more dropped calls Verizon is much higher but you get less dropped calls.
Verizon has better phones and a wider selection.
Sprint has a lesser selection and has had many problems in particular in the area of trying to merge Nextel Direct Connect into it's Sprint network while trying to keep the Nextel side truly Nextel (IMO profit reasons) While Verizion has their's ready to rock on their Direct Connect phones.
I have the Storm 1 with the 5.0 update unlocked and I used it with my T-mobile sim card and I can do just about everything modem surf but cannot e-mail on the T-Mobile side once I go back to the VZ side I can do everything.
I can just slip my T-mobile card into my Tour and it cannot be used as a modem on the T-mobile side I hafta go back to the Sprint side I can e-mail though but from time to time I get an erorr and cannot talk but I can surf so the Tour is not quite ready yet for the GSM network in the states.
I have the Sprint Tour feels more rugged than the Storm but it's due to the keys and the after market case.
The Sprint is a tad bit faster as a modem against the Storm but that's because it has more memory.
The newer Storms have more memory and trust me I'm not happy after Rim Rimmed me like that.
And yes I get the time clock in the middle of the screen from time to time but it's not as bad as it was before the update.
From time to time I gotta stop and let the phone think before I move from one app to another or as I try to type and or scroll on a web page.
The Storm 1 is ok but no cigar.
The Tour is ok but no cigar either due to it's slightly uncomfortable keys which are kinda sharp as Rim tried to create a slant to em for more comfort which really did not work out quite right.
So the choice is yours.
